Welcome to Pawsitively Pet Training
Massa"chew"setts Pet Service is now offering in-home obedience training and behavior modification counseling. After years of dog walking and pet care, we are expanding to include positive-reinforcement pet training. This is learning in which pets' behaviors are altered by the positive consequences that follow. We do not use negative reinforcement or punishment. We have an animal-friendly philosophy with a focus on achieving small steps that build success.
Training Services:
- In-home sessions:
Adaptable training plans for a diverse range of objectives and issues. The first consultation is two hours, followed by one-hour sessions, as needed.
- Walk and train combination:
Daytime dog walking with a focus on training.
- Puppy help:
Start off on the right path so you won't need a trainer later!

About the Trainer:
Melanie is a life-long pet owner with six years of experience working with and observing dogs and cats and applying behavior modification techniques. She earned a degree in animal behavior and is earning her CPTD certification. She also apprenticed with a knowledgeable and experienced professional dog trainer with more than a decade's worth of information to share.
Currently she is helping Cass, a black lab mix she rescued from Louisiana. She lives in Northampton with Cass and Betty the cat.
